Did you know your nursery or garden business could be eligible for the $1,000 SafeWork NSW Small Business Rebate?

This rebate is designed to support small businesses—including production nurseries, wholesale nurseries, retail garden centres, plant hire companies, florists, and allied businesses—by helping them improve workplace health and safety (WHS). It’s a great way to offset the costs of essential safety equipment and make sure your team and customers are protected.

Who's Eligible?
To apply, your business must:

✔ Hold a valid ABN and have fewer than 50 full-time employees
✔ Be the registered business owner (only one application per business every five years)
✔ Complete the SafeWork NSW Small Business Easy to do WHS webinar (just 12 minutes)
✔ Book a SafeWork NSW workplace advisory visit where an inspector provides tailored WHS advice specific to your operations
✔ Purchase eligible safety items and provide proof of purchase and payment (such as invoices, bank statements, or EFTPOS receipts)

Why Act Now?
Investing in safety not only protects your workers and customers—it also strengthens your business reputation, reduces the risk of costly incidents, and improves efficiency. Many nurseries have already used the rebate to upgrade equipment, improve chemical storage safety, or install proper signage.

Remember: you can only apply once every five years, so it’s smart to bundle your eligible purchases together before applying.
