Millennials, or Generation Y, born between the 1980s and early 2000s, are increasingly falling in love with gardening. Growing up in the internet age, they have found solace in this hands-on activity. According to the Axiom 2022 Gardening Insights Survey, over 62% of households wanted to plant more in 2022 than in 2021, and nearly 76% of those belong to Generation Y.

The appeal of gardening for millennials lies in its ability to provide a sense of control, contribute positively to mental and physical health, encourage environmental responsibility, foster better nutrition, and serve as a space for family gatherings. Gardening offers millennials a sense of fulfillment and purpose amid life's challenges, helps ease their stress and anxiety, and provides a break from technology.

Millennials' gardening practices often focus on creating comfortable or entertaining spaces and implementing hardscape improvements. However, they face challenges such as lack of time and financial constraints. Despite these obstacles, millennials see gardening as a way to practice self-sufficiency while helping the environment.

In conclusion, the rise of gardening among millennials is significant due to their large population size and influence on purchasing power, consumer product utilization, and environmental sustainability. Their interest in gardening reflects their values of individuality, independence, control, and environmental care.
